New York state’s death toll is 7,067, compared to 2,753 deaths at the World Trade Center in 2001.

We lost 799 New Yorkers yesterday to this invisible enemy.

We mourn them and stand in support of their families and loved ones.

There are no words that can express our grief and heartbreak.

NEW YORK CITY -- A 34-year-old mother of twin boys who worked the overnight shift at a New York City hospital is among those who have died from COVID-19-related complications.

Prea Nankieshore worked in the emergency department at Long Island Jewish Hospital Forest Hills in Queens, helping to register patients.
